We’re back, I’m making the washing machine work hard and I can tell you it’s damn cold in this country!!

We’re back in Soton, legally wed, slightly stiff from a fantastic ceilidh and getting ready to leave in a few hours on honeymoon. For those still curious as to where we are headed, here’s a wee (not so difficult)
quiz!
I was discovered by Columbus in the 15th century but I wasn’t settled until the 16th century. My climate is tropical and my national flower represents purity, rebelliousness and independence! My flag, like my national bird, is red, white and blue. Where am I?
One week to go…I’m wondering if I should be trying out my shoes!
The shoes, they fit. Huzzah. Undergarmets have been purchased. Not much else has happened on that list though. Wedding rings have been collected, which was one of the million things I had forgotten!
Today, whilst collecting the wedding rings, I purchased lunch in town. It was a real reflection of the town I work in. In Aberdeen there is an infamous tasty lunch that can be bought from the Auld Toon Cafe – a macaroni pie. Get your carbs in you to keep you warm in the Deen. No messing there. I’ve just found the equivalent in Winchester – A chickpea pasty. Nice and wholesome for those organic middle class parents but with a strong nod to some rustic heritage. Got to admit, it was tasty though!
well, it appears I should be in wedding fever, with just three weeks to go. rather, i find myself in wedding inertia! I’m off to pick up my shoes later today (please, God, let them fit!) so maybe that will provide the last minute boost I need.
Still to do:
finish the placecards
find appropriate undergarments
collect shoes
stop eating so much crap
order thank you cards
find appropriate honeymoon attire
sort out the seating plan (yikes!)
and probably a million other things that I’ve forgotten!

The Hall is done!

So my latest dilemma is earrings. I have a vintage necklace which I am going to wear (something old?!) but I can’t find earrings to match. I’ve order some that may go but my gut tells me they won’t be quite right. I also can’t decide whether to buy hairpins, or whether I should just trust that the hairdresser I’m using won’t just have minky ones.
I’ve finally ordered flowers but I got a bit arm twisted on the phone and now I’m fearful that they won’t be as I imagined either. I wanted just orchids for my bouquet and now I’m having orchids, lisianthus and freesia. It’s so hard doing this from a distance, you just have to trust people won’t make you look like a total minger!
So the clock’s really moving fast these days. Invites are out. Our website is live (design thanks to K, papercuts by me) and shoes are on order. I need everyone to cross everything that the shoes will (a) arrive and (b) fit! The hunt’s now on for something to keep me warm…
Mucking about with a lomo filter online. Made this dodgy shot of sheep on Islay look much cooler! Need to get the Holga back out and snapping!
